Ink Making and Colour-scape Drawing with Ffion Taverner £30
£30.00
Join us for a 2.5 hr, gentle, colourful and experimental session of drawing with plants. We will start by
creating a simple natural ink from flowers grown by Hael Natural Colour. Inks take time to make,
so we will be letting it simmer away on the hob and coming back to it throughout the session,
whilst Ffion shares her tips and tricks of creating a lovely glossy medium to draw with.
Whilst the ink will be infusing, we will move into our drawing exercises working with natural art
tools such as sticks, leaves and homemade twig pens. We will be working with a number of
pre-made natural inks for this part, seeing their colours and understanding how they react on
card.
We will then move onto creating our colour- scapes. These will be pieces of art of their own,
where colours merge together and react with each other, introducing acid, alkalis and metallic
salts like iron. Colour-scapes are little worlds of colliding colours, creating very beautiful and
unique patterns and shapes.
This workshop will welcome all but especially those who are curious to explore the art of
drawing and merge colour on paper. You will leave with many colourful experiments on paper as well as a lovely A4 colour scape on a lovely weighted cotton rag paper.
Important Notes:
- This workshop is not suitable for children under the age of 8 years old (children aged 8 to 16 years old must be accompanied by another adult on the course)

- Hot drinks will be available to purchase from our Really Wild shop (situated next to our course room).
- IMPORTANT: On your booking confirmation you will be sent a link for all participants to fill in our Participation Agreement and Consent Form. Please ensure this form link is forwarded to all members of your group booking. Participants under 18 years of age will need a parent or legal guardian to fill theirs in. This must be done BEFORE your session takes place.
