Wild About Pembrokeshire CIC

Create, educate, inspire

Who are we?

Here at The Really Wild Emporium, education is at the centre of everything that we do. John, one of our founders, has many years of Head teaching experience under his belt, and we employ a number of other staff members with teaching backgrounds. We believe that educating and inspiring all generations; be it young or old(er), is key to the sustainability and wellbeing of our natural world (as well as our own wellbeing too!). Our Wild About Pembrokeshire CIC is a not-for-profit Social Enterprise, set up to do exactly that! The Wild About Pembrokeshire CIC is run by three directors, all also long-serving members of staff at The Really Wild Emporium; Claire, Abbie and Jon.

What are our aims?

Through community outreach projects, schools workshops and a range of other events, we hope to create opportunities for people to:

How will we do this?

We have a growing team of volunteers and staff who, between them, have an ever-increasing range of knowledge and skills to offer! We are particularly interested in collaborating with other Social Enterprise groups, to deliver nature-focused community events. Some of the experiences we can offer include:

What can we offer?

Our Directors, staff and volunteers have a wide range of skills to offer. All of our guides hold current Outdoor First Aid certificates and are DBS checked. Both of our Foraging Guides are members of the Association of Foragers. Other qualifications include; PGCE & NQT certified teaching staff, Forest School Level 3, 200hr Yoga and Meditation Teacher Training.

Present and past projects

Set up in Winter 2025, Wild About Pembrokeshire has already delivered sessions to our local community, information about these can be found below:

Wellbeing Walks

Winter can be an isolating and difficult time for those living on the St Davids Peninsula. So we set up fortnightly Wellbeing Walks as a way to bring our community together for some fresh air! After an hours walk we headed back to The Really Wild Restaurant for a warming bowl of soup, sourdough and much-needed catch ups! These walks have been a great success, and even attracted ITV Wales who joined us for a day in March to showcase them!

CIC Pancake Day

Our wonderful CIC volunteers and staff put on an incredibly successful Pancake Day in February, raising vital funds for our CIC account! With these funds, we will be able to subsidise schools workshops, community events and help disadvantaged groups access much needed, nature-focused wellbeing sessions.

Schools Workshops

In March Abbie visited local school, Ysgol Penrhryn Dewi to run some foraging workshops with their Year 4 and 5’s. We were approached by the teachers to see if we could run some curriculum topic-specific walks and of course, we were delighted to! The children loved the workshops and their enthusiasm to learn and experience some different wild foods, was brilliant!

We have a number of projects in the pipeline, but if there’s a community or schools project you’d like us to get involved with, then please get in touch!…
