Hand Cream, Hampers and
Holiday Happenings
It’s been a while since we last updated you on new things going on here at The Really Wild Emporium, so I thought I’d write a short
update with some of the key things that have been going on, and things that are coming up!
NEW MENU
Next week we launch our festive menu! (How is it that time of year again!) To say we’re excited is an understatement! In May,
this year, we welcomed experienced chef Phill into our kitchen team, who has since taken up the role of Head Chef, and the feedback
we’ve had from his latest Taster Menu has been phenomenal!
Our festive offering this year, is your choice of either 2 or 3 courses from our sensational set menu. You can view the menu HERE, and
we are taking bookings for Wednesday to Saturday evenings, as well as Friday lunchtimes! The menu celebrates seasonal and local
produce, whilst including our usual, wonderfully wild-inspired twist! Perfect for festive gatherings, family parties or work celebrations!
Booking in advance is essential, so don’t leave it too late!

NEW PRODUCTS
Gift Hampers
The first-floor mermaids have been busy putting together some extra special gift hampers for the festive season…because let’s face it,
we all have that family member who’s awkward to buy for! Each hamper can be made up in either our bamboo baskets (gift wrapped
with biodegradable cellophane), or in a luxury willow hamper. So whether it’s for a magnificent mermaid, a shabby goat, or that dog crazy
aunt who prefers paws to people; we’ve got the hamper for you! You can have a view and purchase the hampers we have available
through our online shop!

Hand Cream
A couple of years ago we launched our Mermaid Wash liquid soap, which spends more time being bottled than it does sitting on
our shelves! It has dived off the shelves since we launched it, and has quickly become our best seller, due to its luxurious feel and
sublime lavender and lemongrass scent. The good news?… We’ve just launched our Mermaid Hand Cream, which has exactly the
same scent profile!!! Hellolong-lasting lavender, lemony, loveliness!!! With seaweed and sea buckthorn extracts, this rich hand
cream is quickly becoming a contender for the seller top-spot! It comes inthree different sizes, including a handy travel sized tin
for merpeople on the go!
Product Trial
If all that wasn’t enough; at the start of November we also launched a skincare trial for a new seaweed serum that we have
been developing, for people with sensitive skin. We’re currently compiling all of the results, so whilst we’re confident we can
deliver a suitably soothing product to you soon; watch this space for further updates!
OTHER NEWS
Fire Fire, Fire Fire!
You might’ve seen on our socials that we were alerted to a fire at our premises on 1st September. Thanks to a vigilant
neighbour who saw the smoke, and an incredibly quick response time from our local emergency services, the damage was
constrained to one room only (the staff toilet/laundry). What followed, was a brilliant display of community that St Davids is
so good for; many members of the community offered their support in a variety of ways – from freezer space offers while we got
the electrics sorted (thanks Rick) to comforting hugs and messages of support, we appreciated them all greatly! Our staff team
were also their usual fantastic selves, and came straight in to help clear up the damage, so that we could reopen just 36 hours later!
Thank you to everyone who helped us through this time, we are incredibly lucky to still be here!
Coastal Voices Documentary
Earlier this year John was contacted by Maria Wilke with an invitation to participate in a filmed interview, for the
research project Coastal Voices – Community perspectives on marine environments and seaweed farming, run by the
Scottish Association of Marine Science.
A chance to talk about seaweeds?….Good luck limiting our John to a restricted amount of time!!!!
Anyway…the documentary was filmed beautifully and contained a number of interviews from members of the
St Davids Peninsula community, focussing on the topic of sustainable seaweed farming. Not only did John feature,
but Abbie (that’s me), had the opportunity to co-produce and record the song that was played for the end credits, alongside
local musician, Mike Chant.
The screening launch of the documentary was a huge success, and many members of the community came together at
St Davids Rugby Club to celebrate it’s release into the world! You can view the documentary here:

So, now that I’ve finished that spiel, all that leaves me to say, is well done if you’ve managed to keep reading this far!
We think it’s really important to keep everyone up-to-date with everything going on in our wonderfully wild corner of the world!
Thank you again for your continued support and for all of the wonderful Really Wild feedback that we get – do keep it coming in!
We hope you have a cosy start to winter and will look forwards to seeing you at The Really Wild Emporium soon!
With warm wishes,
Abbie
